Project Description
Established in 1952, the Barrie Yacht Club is home to 200 members, including Olympic medalists and hopefuls, and outstanding boaters of all types and all ages. The Club offers seasonal activities and is recognized as a leader in sailing education, with the largest sailing school on Lake Simcoe. The mission of the Barrie Yacht Club (BYC) is to provide a safe, family-friendly environment that encourages the sport of sailing through skills development, education, competition and fellowship.
The OtherHalf supported the organizational review committee in reviewing and revising the organization’s bylaws in anticipation of the proposed Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA) and to be aligned with the Ontario Sailing Association direction on this matter. We are also revising the HR policies and member handbook to ensure compliance with legislation and best practices.
